Zack Zavatsky
Zack’s wrestling journey began at age 5 in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. After fully committing to wrestling in 8th grade, he became a four-year Division 1 starter for the Virginia Tech Hokies and a two-time All-American. Zack graduated in 2019 with a degree in Packaging Science and works in Supply Chain for Corning, Inc. He relocated to Raleigh in 2022 and is driven to establish an elite wrestling club in the Triangle Area, drawing inspiration from highly successful clubs he was a member of growing up. Zack works with kids of all skill levels, pushing them to become the best version of themselves on and off the mats. Beyond corporate work and wrestling, he enjoys staying physically active and working on projects at his house. Zack firmly believes wrestling teaches valuable life lessons and looks forward to sharing them with athletes in North Carolina, hoping to create similar opportunities through the sport.
Dom Scalise
Dom began wrestling in 2004 when he discovered Latrobe, PA’s Junior Olympic wrestling program through a flyer. He and his father developed a deep passion for the sport, leading Dom to fully commit to wrestling by 8th grade. This dedication paid off with a successful high school career, earning him a spot at the University of Virginia, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2018. After college, he embarked on a career in Tech in San Francisco but later moved to Raleigh to start a life with his wife, Claire, whom he married in September 2022. Professionally, he serves as a Technical Account Manager for WalkMe, Inc., while outside of work, he enjoys spending time with Claire and their cats, Bud and Willow, as well as indulging in golf and video games.
Matt Fields
Matt started his wrestling journey at the age of 5, training with the North Royalton youth program in Ohio, and dedicated himself to the sport from 6th grade onwards. After a successful high school career, he continued his wrestling journey at North Carolina State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in business administration in 2022. Choosing to remain in the Triangle area, he enrolled at Campbell University's School of Law in Raleigh to pursue his JD, with plans to graduate in spring 2025. Wrestling has deeply influenced Matt's life, shaping his professional aspirations, and he aims to share the valuable lessons he's learned with future athletes, inspired by the impact of his own coaches.
Nikola Mirkovic
Nikola joined the sport of wrestling during high school in Ridgewood, New Jersey. He continued his athletic journey at Williams College where he competed on both the wrestling mat and football field. At Williams, he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and psychology. In addition, Nikola has earned an MBA from Boston University and a Masters in Biomedical Science from Rutgers University. Alongside Nikola’s professional career managing clinical trials for biotech companies, he has over 10 years of experience coaching wrestling and football at both the collegiate and high school levels. Nikola attributes a great deal of his successes to the life lessons he learned in athletics and hopes to pass those lessons on to the next generation of athletes.
